## **Introduction**

Incentivate, a [no-code SaaS platform](https://incentivatesolutions.com/sales-commission-software/), has been selected by Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (Crompton), one of the stated leaders in the consumer electrical segment in India, to transform its sales incentive management process. The collaboration will focus on addressing longstanding pain points around data consolidation, incentive automation, approval workflows, and performance visibility to boost the motivation and decision-making capabilities of the sales team.  
  
As an early mover in energy-efficient solutions, Crompton focuses on enabling innovation across its products and empowering its workforce. With its inclusion in the S&P Global BSE Consumer Durables Index as of February 2022, Crompton continues to set benchmarks in operational excellence across its pan-India footprint.

## **Challenges Faced by Crompton**

1.  **Fragmented Data Systems**: KPI data, such as primary and secondary sales, is stored across disparate systems, making manual consolidation and incentive calculations error-prone and time-intensive.  
    
2.  **Complex Approval Mechanisms**: An approval process that spanned across different levels and multiple departments, such as Finance, HR, and Payroll, created bottlenecks in exception handling and policy updates.  
    
3.  **Lack of Visibility**: Sales executives, managers, and leaders struggled with a lack of visibility into their performance, targets, achievements & overall team performance.  
    
4.  **Demotivation**: Without real-time insights into their progress and potential earnings, sales reps lacked the motivation to improve performance.

Crompton selected Incentivate to overcome these challenges through a tailored, feature-rich solution:

1.  **Flexible, No-Code System:** Incentivate's platform allowed Crompton to tweak incentive plans—for different roles, regions, products, or individuals—without writing a single line of code. New incentive plans could be introduced at any time.  
    
2.  **Comprehensive Dashboards:** Real-time performance dashboards enabled leaders and branch heads to monitor branch-level sales and sales managers’ performance. Sales reps could easily track their target vs. actual performance and receive actionable nudges for improvement.  
    
3.  **Custom Workflows:** Role-based workflows allow users to raise transaction-level queries, manage exceptions, and send approval requests based on business rules, ensuring efficiency and accountability across departments.  
    
4.  **Downloadable Reports:** Crompton could generate up to seven reports in formats like CSV or Excel. These helped them look at profit and loss analysis, trend identification, and strategic planning.  
    
5.  **Employee Motivation via Nudges:** [Personalized nudges](https://incentivatesolutions.com/blogs/personalized-nudging-data-driven-sales-performance-guidance/) keep sales reps updated on their current performance, potential earnings, and actionable steps to maximize incentives. Notifications are sent via email, the Incentivate mobile app, and WhatsApp.  
    
6.  **What-If Simulation:** A built-in simulator helps salespeople predict how more effort can lead to higher earnings, encouraging them to take charge.  
    
7.  **Mobile App Accessibility:** The Incentivate app, which works on Android and iPhones, gives field reps easy access to important updates and tools, making them more productive when they're out and about.
