# ZEISS Implements Enterprise OKR Management System with Incentivate

## **Introduction**

ZEISS has expanded its partnership with Incentivate by implementing an advanced OKR (Objectives and Key Results) module, enabling a scalable, structured, and enterprise-ready performance management framework. This implementation supports the organization’s need to manage complex goal-setting processes while maintaining clarity and consistency across teams.

Building on an already successful engagement, this expansion reflects ZEISS’s focus on operationalizing a highly customized OKR structure, one that goes beyond standard frameworks. The approach balances flexibility in goal-setting with strong accountability, governance, and alignment, ensuring that performance management evolves alongside organizational priorities without sacrificing control or transparency.

## **Challenges Faced by ZEISS**

Managing a highly customized OKR framework across the organization introduced structural and operational complexities:

### **Hybrid objective structures across teams**

A mix of “Selected for You” and “You Select” objectives made standardization difficult while maintaining flexibility.

### **Diverse performance metrics**

OKRs included both quantitative and qualitative measures, requiring different evaluation approaches within the same framework.

### **Multi-layered approval and review workflows**

Processes involved self-reviews, manager evaluations, and additional layers of approval, creating dependencies and delays.

### **Frequent organizational and mid-cycle changes**

Workflows managed through spreadsheets and email threads led to limited visibility, inconsistent governance, and manual effort.
